Another top result leading Wales, consistent with our performance each and every year for the past decade. 

Average UCAS points per candidate = 438
[Total subject entries: 85]

The top score of 740 UCAS points (based on 140 = A*, 120 = A, 100 = B, 80 = C etc ) was achieved by Aymenn Jawad who will go to (David Cameron's) Brasenose College, Oxford, to read Classics; though with 5A* equivalent in biology, chemistry, mathematics, Spanish & Latin Aymenn could have studied medicine, law, dentistry, pure science, engineering, mathematics or Modern Languages..... .  Aymenn appears regularly in the Letters Page of The Times newspaper pursuing ongoing dialogue with a variety of distinguished correspondents.

Candidates successfully gained places in Oxford & Cambridge,  including places for Medicine at both universities, and places in Medicine and Law at other major universities.  Arvind Kumar outperformed an exceptional offer from Churchill College, Cambridge, which required at least 2 A* grades to read medicine by achieving  4A* grades in mathematics and sciences. Economics student Hwang Katong's 4 A* results will lead to study in University College, London (UCL). 

Outstanding solo violinist Sam Lee and pianist Harrison Denner combined A* in music with a range of A* results in mathematics, sciences, history and other subjects leading to Medicine & Law studies.

GCSE Results 2010

Following the College's outstanding performance at A level, leading all Welsh schools for the tenth successive year, we are also celebrating our GCSE performance:

95.2% of our students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades.

Dr Neville said "We are as proud of our GCSE performance with our unselected 63 students, who have sat no entrance examination, as we are of our 6th form who have ALL succeeded in fulfilling their offers to top universities and have again topped league tables in Wales achieving a leading position in the whole UK (The Times table  has placed the school 11 all UK schools).

This result out-performs results which we achieved at the time of the ESTYN 2006 Inspection when achievement at A level was identified as an outstanding feature of the school.

We have achieved this leading result in Wales for the 9th consecutive year.

• 98% of our age 16 students achieved at least 7 A* - C grades.
