ESU Churchill Public Speaking Welsh final

Kimaya M, Jacob V and Jack A (all R16) represented St John’s yesterday in the Welsh final of the ESU Churchill competition. The opposition was impressive from five other schools across Wales who aired their opinions on several challenging topics, such as: ‘we should reaffirm our moral and legal duties towards refugees’ and ‘the UK is a nation divided’. Jack A won Best Questioner, but, unfortunately, our St John’s team missed out on victory this time.
Both Jacob V and Jack A will be representing the school again, alongside Leon S, next Saturday, 16th March in the Rotary Club’s Welsh final of their Youth Speaks competition. We wish them the best of luck in this next stage.
