A Jolly, Wet Pirate Day!

Despite the shocking rain today, R10 had a fantastic ‘Pirate Day’ at Port Eynon, learning about local smuggling legends and practising all manner of navigational skills. They played games using directions on the beach, learnt how to use a compass and worked collaboratively to find their way around.

Armed with new skills but without their cutlasses, they had to follow instructions and compass directions to locate clues to find the lost treasure of John Lucas, an infamous Pirate from the very same village and whose fortunes built Port Eynon.

Sadly the mystery and intrigue were somewhat dampened by the weather, but the R10 children battled the elements to find the loot, hidden in the Salt House.

A very soggy but successful haul!
