R11 Parents’ Assembly
Friday 28th June saw a packed library when R11 delivered their Leavers’ Assembly to parents and other family members. At St John’s College, our Junior pupils do not really have far to go as they transition into the Senior Department but it was still an emotional afternoon as the Juniors spoke about their memories from Nursery through to R11. Some pupils read poems they had written
entitled “Celebrating My School”, while others described the reasons for the items they had included in their silhouette designs.
All R11 had designed silhouettes based on their facial profiles and including mementoes and drawings of things that meant a lot to them during their time in school and these were all on display. The highlight of the assembly was a beautiful rendition of “A Million Dreams” with R11 proving what excellent singers they all are. Everyone stayed afterwards for tea and cake before heading home to prepare for the residential trip the week after.
