R11 Residential Trip to Powys
R11 enjoyed a fantastic three days with Brenin Adventures in Llandinam, Powys. They stayed at Broneirion Hall where they had the use of a great games room as well as the well-equipped
bedrooms and the lovely grounds of the hall. It was an action-packed visit with activities that included canoeing, raft building, gorge walking and bushcraft, as well as evening fun such as
following an obstacle course blindfolded, zip wire challenges and orienteering. Food was plentiful at breakfast and supper, plus pupils made their own packed lunches – a new experience for some!
Here are some favourite memories:
“ I loved the water sports, my favourite was canoeing as you could splash people!”
“My favourite moment was in the gorge walking when we slid down a natural waterfall slide!”
“My favourite part was when I ignited a cotton wool ball with a flint and steel…we toasted
marshmallows on our campfire when we did bushcraft.”
Overall, it was a great experience for all R11- they learnt a great deal about themselves, achieved challenges that at times surprised them and worked well in their teams.
