Young Enterprise Regional Final
This year our Lower Sixth form students have successfully set up and run exciting and innovative companies – Syzygy, Undergraduate Clothing and Masai.
The students have, over the course of the academic year, gained “hands-on” experience of business life – raising and managing their finances; developing and marketing their product ranges and selling to the general public.
We have been supported this year by business mentors from Admiral Insurance, who have given fantastic advice and encouragement at the companies’ weekly meetings. We give our special thanks to Lindsey Screen, Robert Wall (SJC alumnus) and Mark Andrews for voluntarily making the commitment of their time during the Young Enterprise programme.
The companies’ hard work and commitment was rewarded by an invitation to the Regional Finals of the Young Enterprise Competition held in Cardiff City Hall. The companies prepared a business report and presentation outlining their journey and undertook interviews, at their trade stands, by the judges. Each of the companies were praised for the standard of their efforts.
Congratulations to Undergraduate Clothing who received the award for the best use of IT and Social Media on the day.
Each of the students involved in the Young Enterprise programme should be commended for the commitment and enthusiasm they have shown. Well done to our promising entrepreneurs!
