R13 Chepstow Racecourse Maths Trip
On Wednesday 20th November R13 visited Chepstow Racecourse to take part in a range of mathematical activities, incorporating key elements that are taught in the classroom
Pupils looked closely at the construction of hurdles and fences, learning how they are built and measuring their height and spread to discover how athletic horses are. Other activities included pupils using their maths skills to calculate how many horses can safely fit into the parade ring before a race at one time.
The trip was concluded by watching three live horse races from front row seats which was thoroughly enjoyed by all students and staff.
