Senior Maths Challenge

On Thursday 6th November, 62 of our sixth form maths students participated in this year’s SMC. This challenge is run by UKMT; it is difficult and is a real challenge. This involves answering 25 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes. The questions are of graded difficulty and marks are deducted for incorrect answers. Most students enjoy participating and enjoy the pressure of working on challenging questions. This helps them to test their problem solving skill; for Lower Sixth pupils it is a good start to their AL studies. Their participation is a confirmation of their commitment. Top performing students will be invited to compete in BMO1 and the next highest to Senior Kangaroo exam (and the follow up competitions depending on the performance in BMO1).
