R12 History Trip to Cardiff Castle

On Friday 6th February the R12 year group visited Cardiff Castle as part of their study of Medieval Wales.

The visit consisted of a tour of the magnificent building in which pupils were able to develop their knowledge of the Marquis of Bute and his importance to Cardiff. This was followed by a talk about Medieval weaponry in the Steward’s Room given by one of the education staff, Elizabeth.

We were lucky enough to visit the castle on the 63rd anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne and therefore were present to see the 21-gun salute at midday.

Many thanks to Miss Gregor, Miss Read and Miss McManus for accompanying us on the trip and helping to make it such a success.

Mr Taylor.
