Sixth Form ‘Hamlet’ Theatre Trip
The Sixth Form Literature students were treated to a superb performance of ‘Hamlet’ at the New Theatre on Wednesday, 11th March. The production, which was produced by the Clwyd Theatre, was enthralling and extremely powerful. Though Hamlet himself was played by an accomplished actor, the star of the night had to be Ophelia, who definitely captivated the audience, particularly in the second half. Terry Hands’ staging was imaginative and creative: the final sword fighting scene in the denouement was executed with verve and panache. Our matinee trip was a great success and the students who attended developed their understanding and knowledge of the tragic form in preparation for their exams.
