R10 Trip to the International Centre for Birds of Prey
For their end of year trip, R10 set out for Newent to visit the International Centre for Birds of Prey. We started off the day with a tour around the centre where the children were able to learn about the different birds of prey. They were lucky enough to get up close to a baby owl named Squidgit, a Peregrine Falcon, WhiteTailed Sea Eagle, Kestrels and Merlins!
We then settled down to the first of our flying displays; the children were very impressed by the acrobatics of the birds. After a lunch and a well deserved ice cream we saw a second flying display; all the birds were wonderful but the favourite of the day was the Burrowing Owl.
R10 were exceptionally behaved throughout the day and were a credit to themselves and St John’s.
