R13 Geography Trip to Caswell Bay
R13 Geography classes very much enjoyed their visit to Caswell Bay on the Mumbles where the sun shone all day. The pupils investigated how the bay had been, and continues to be, subjected to the power of the waves. They sketched the coastal features including headlands, faults, caves and arches. In groups they made sand sculptures to represent the processes of erosion and later they timed waves to help them to decide if they were destructive or constructive waves. Finally, the pupils collected data about the size of material on the beach. A very successful day!
