Well done to all 16 pupils who played outstandingly well last night on the ATP pitch at Talybont. On Monday 3rd there will be a 33 seater bus due to the growing success of hockey numbers! I would like to see at least 11 male players attending next week!

The Junior Hockey Club for R10 & R11 takes place on Monday lunchtime and the senior school club takes place every Monday evening from 16:00-17:15 at Talybont. The external club link is held at Cardiff Metropolitan University on Tuesday evenings 18:30-19:30. Welsh Hockey Coach, Ieuan, has some great tactics to share with SJC players. Mrs Wood

Rugby and Football

The R12 Rugby team and R13 Football team were involved in a double header fixture on Monday afternoon against Bro Edern. Both teams played extremely well against two very strong Bro Edern sides. Unfortunately, St John’s lost in both games but can take many positives from the performances. Well done to all involved. Mr Tertois

Tuesday afternoon saw St John’s host their very first  ten aside rugby tournament for R13. It was a fantastic opportunity to play a different form of rugby to the traditional fifteen aside game. The tournament saw over 70 children competing throughout the afternoons. The R13 pupils performed outstandingly throughout securing 3 wins from 4 games against quality opposition including : Fitzalan, Cardiff high, Eastern and St Clare’s. Oliver H deserves a special mention for some outstanding tries scored through his powerful ball carrying.

The pupils were, as always, a credit to our school.

Well done all, Mr Williams

R16 v Kings Monkton well done to all players who demonstrated fantastic netball skills on court this evening.  A special mention to Thea R who achieved player of the match.  Mrs Wood and Miss Thomas.

Rugby and Hockey

On Friday afternoon St John’s College hosted King’s Hawford School Worcester for some Rugby and Hockey fixtures as they were touring the area. This was a fantastic occasion with over 100 pupils taking part. Congratulations to all involved. Mr Tertois and Miss Thomas
