Sixth Form Enrichment WW1 Centenary Lecture at The Pierhead

On Tuesday 8 November, our sixth formers attended¬†the Welsh Assembly’s centenary lecture to commemorate the First World War, hosted at The Pierhead. This year’s lecture was offered by former British Army field commander, the Lieutenant-General Jonathon Riley, and was entitled ‘The Royal Welch Fusiliers and the great Christmas truce, 1914 – 1915’. The lecture focused on the remarkable stories of the¬†Christmas truces of 1914 and 1915, through the eyes of the Welsh officers and men involved.
