Netball News

On the 7th February 2017, twenty eight pupils attended the Swansea University International Netball Test Series: Wales Vs New Zealand Netball match. It was a truly historic event as Wales last played New Zealand twenty years ago. New Zealand underlined their status as one of the world’s top netball nations as they beat Wales 27-92 in the first two tests in Cardiff.

All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the netball match and they were amazed by the world class netball they had witnessed. Some R12 pupils stated it was an interesting experience and it helped us to understand how fast the game can be played. They also thought that watching a first-class netball team will help them with their netball development.

On Thursday afternoon the R12 pupils played in a triangular tournament against Whitchurch and Corpus Christi. St John’s A and B team played Corpus Christi’ A and B team first and unfortunately they lost both games. The pupils went into the second game with a positive attitude against Whitchurch’s A and B team. St John’s A team beat Whitchurch A 7-1 with goals scored by Harshita and Carys. St John’s B team drew against Whitchurch B 2-2 with goals scored by Elizabeth. All players played extremely well and were very happy with their win against Whitchurch. Congratulations to Carys who received player of the match.
