Middle School Eisteddfod

Da iawn, Mostyn!

This month, all Middle School pupils gathered together in the school hall for a feast of both literary and musical performances at our annual Middle School Eisteddfod. Pupils competed in numerous competitions, ranging from stage competitions to homework competitions across the subject range. Winners include Christina Logan in R13D for her imaginative interpretation of a Welsh poem, Tom T (R13B) playing a captivating piece on the guitar, Carys R (R12M), Harshita A (R12T) and Ashok A (R12M) for their English creative writing entries, Gokul R (R14) for his IT entry and Ben A (R14) for his interesting Astronomy homework!

Mostyn remain the winning house for the second year in a row, with an astonishing 348 points! Da iawn, pawb!

This year, the main award of the ceremony goes to Carys R in R12M as she was crowned Bard of the Eisteddfod. It was a very close competition this year; so close that Ella E in R13D was a deserved runner up! Both were accompanied by current Welsh GCSE pupils; Emily H, Ben E, Anfaal H, Harry D and Oliver B, along with R15 Welsh pupils, Otis S, Alex C, Joshua J and Ioan B-P to their rightful places on the stage, where they were both draped in our national Welsh flag and crowned as our 2017 bard and runner-up. Carys was also presented with her certificate and prize before the formal ceremony closed with the audience congratulating her for her exceptional achievement!

Llongyfarchiadau, Carys! Congratulations Jasmine!
