Squad 1  V Squad 2

The action-packed Inter Hockey match on Monday night kicked off with an excellent showdown between both games.  Right from the start, it was clear that this was not going to be an easy game for either side. A spell of possession for the SJC squad 1, Tara broke away from the squad 2 defence, only to fire the shot wide.  A few defensive slips from from squad 2 in allowed Maddy to score a hatrick. Squad 2 had most of the possession in the second half and immediately put the squad 1 defence under a lot of pressure, creating early chances and winning a corner.  Izzy worked hard to secure two fabulous goals.  Estee and Maddy both went on to score two further goals for their team.  Congratulations to both teams and player of the match, Maddy.  Final result 7-2.

Squad 3 V Squad 4

An excellent opening by Squad 3, Isel and Harshita demonstrated some excellent support play in getting past Lewis from Squad 4.  However, it wasn’t long before Harry opted to shoot first and securing an excellent opening goal for his squad.  We saw some excellent defence by Dea her clearances were effective each time.  Following the success of Dea’s clearances Crina and Harshita built momentum on their counter attacks, scoring a goal each.  Harry went on to score another goal as a result of an outstanding pass from Tomos.  An excellent match with an even result 2-2.  Player of the match went to Harry.  Congratulations to all involved.  Jaime played keeper across the 4 matches.  Jaime had timed keeper innings, he was effective across all 4 squads and saved at least 3 goals for each team.

The game started at a frantic pace with both teams creating some excellent goal scoring opportunities. Fitzalan took the lead midway through the half and doubled their lead before half time. St John’s started the second half extremely well and were rewarded for their efforts with a well taken goal from Sayaam K-S. The game then became really stretched with St John’s pushing for the equaliser. Unfortunately St John’s were unable to convert any of their chances during this period and Fitzalan scored on the counter. Final score St John’s College 1 Fitzalan High 3. Congratulations to all involved in the fixture.
