R10 Trip to Port Eynon
R10 pupils recently visited Port Eynon in The Gower to take part in ‘Pirate Day’. After an initial slight drizzle the weather brightened to allow pupils to demonstrate their map reading and grid reference skills. Pupils then learned about the history of smuggling in past times and the involvement of the notorious Lucas family.
After testing their skills on the beach at Port Eynon, groups of pupils competed with each other to locate the hidden pirate hoard. With map reading and compass skills stretched to the limit pupils eventually found the hidden bounty. An excellent day was had by all and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed and immersed themselves into the activities all day.
