SnapChat Warning for Parents
The social networking app SnapChat recently introduced a new feature allowing people to locate fellow users using GPS. This feature is called SnapChat Maps and schools across the UK are concerned about the potentially huge safety implications for young people. The BBC article below outlines some of the issues.
As part of our commitment to online safety at St John’s College, I strongly advise all parents to discuss the use of SnapChat with their sons/daughters in order to make them fully aware of its functions and the consequences of any misuse.
Pupils are reminded that the use of SnapChat and other social networks is strictly forbidden during school hours.
