Junior Book Club
Archie’s Unbelievably Freaky Week
In what must be one of our most popular choices so far (enjoyed by our older pupils just as much as the young), Junior Book Club members once again did unbelievably well, keenly showing off their in depth-knowledge of Andrew Norriss’ wickedly funny Archie’s Unbelievably Freaky Week.
In a particularly energetic, keenly contested quiz Mostyn 1 scooped a win by the very narrowest of margins; though all definitely impressed with their enthusiasm!
Da Iawn Pawb!
Andrew Norriss’ Whitbread Award winning, Aquila (eagle), took Junior Book Club members on a fantastic journey of discovery and provided a number of laugh out loud moments along the way. Congratulations to team St. David’s 2, this half-term’s high-flyers at the Junior Book Club quiz.

Next Book Club…
The next Book Club text is:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C S Lewis.
This, the best known of the Narnia Chronicles, was first published in 1950 and remains one of the most enduringly popular children’s books ever published.
“The magic of C. S. Lewis’s parallel universe never fades” – The Times
Pupils can choose to read either the original text or a sensitively abridged edition, beautifully illustrated by Christian Birmingham.
The next Junior Book Club will be held, in Circle Time, on Tuesday 16th January. As always, those who have a read the text, had it read to them or have listened to the audio book are welcome to attend.
