Sixth Form DT students visit to Linear Plastics
On Thursday, 25th January, the lower and upper sixth DT students visited an injection moulding company, Linear Plastics.
They were warmly welcomed into the establishment by Andrew Harrison, who expertly explained the complex process of injection moulding, from the initial design concept on CAD through to the completed product. Not only did he show examples of end products and the different materials available, he gave a tour of the factory, giving the students first-hand experience of viewing the machinery in use.
Andrew was very thorough in his explanations and the students felt that having the visual experience of injection moulding machines, would easily allow them to apply their knowledge and understanding to their coursework and examination questions.
All students behaved impeccably well and displayed a high level of respect for all persons they spoke to. They should be very proud of themselves.
Mrs Bate and Mr Moody.
