  • Junior Fire Service Visit

    The fire service visited R7 and R10 this week.  The firemen initially taught the R10 pupils what to do in the event of a fire in their house and the benefits of proper precautions which they and their parents could take to avoid this happening in the first place.  Then pupils were taken for a tour of the fire engine and Jamie L demonstrated how to use fire beaters. …

    On Thursday evening the Junior pupils arrived back at school dressed to impress in their best party outfits. The pupils all enjoyed the disco with DJ Deano, Isabelle O-S said ‘it was fantastic, everyone had a lovely time’. Jake K said ‘I enjoyed dancing and the sweets’.   • R12 Geography field trip to Ryer’s Down

    R12 pupils participated in an activity day where they had to collect data in order to prepare an environmental report to help them decide if Ryer’s Down was a suitable location for a wind farm. The weather was sunny but windy and the pupils particularly enjoyed the pond dipping activity, resulting in some soggy feet but a great collection of insects and newts.…

  • R13 Latin Trip to Caerleon

    On Wednesday 22nd April R13 pupils enjoyed  a trip to the Roman amphitheatre, barracks, museum and baths at Caerleon. Our excellent guide encouraged students to link the research we have done in class this year on Roman architecture and daily life to the features we found at the sites. Beginning at the amphitheatre and barracks we used our imaginations to re-create scenes experienced by a Roman soldier stationed in Britain nearly two thousand years ago.…
