They listened to their different chirping sounds and saw where their wings would grow. The children saw that the mummy duck had webbed feet. R5 children were given an owl pellet.…

    We had a fantastic time in Forest school hunting for bugs. We found a snail shell, woodlice and a ladybird. The children learnt how to shake a tree to collect small insects and seeds. The children enjoyed digging for earthworms but unfortunately, they were too deep in the ground.…

    On Tuesday the Infants visited St Cadoc’s for a traditional service. The R7 children read extracts from the life of Our Lady and read out the prayers that they had written to Mary. We sang ‘Bring Flowers of the rarest’ as all the children processed up the aisle to crown the statue of Our Lady and place a flower in the basket.…

    Following a busy morning of assessments, the pupils of R13 were given some light relief in the form of a House Quiz and Spelling Bee. Pupils were divided into two teams per House with the aim of qualifying for the finals later in the term. R12 and R14 will compete later this week.…

    R5 visited Porthkerry Country Park on Wednesday. Our first activity was pond dipping. The children used nets to catch tadpoles and water snails.     Congratulations to Oliver G for his recent hockey success. His Whitchurch club team are the Welsh U13 Champions for 2019. The U13s team won the South Wales cup on the 6th April, beating off strong competition from Penarth, Swansea and Gwent. This put Whitchurch and Penarth through to the Welsh final which was held in Newtown on Sunday 28th April.…
