    The nursery children are getting into the Christmas spirit this week. We have been painting the nativity figures and listening to the Christmas story with Mrs Brodie in RE. We had lots of fun decorating the Nursery and Infant Christmas tree. Some of the baubles were almost bigger than us! The children have also been making food for the birds in winter and made a little Christmas gift to put in their gardens.…

    This week, the R5 children have been in the Christmas spirit! We started the week by painting big nativity characters to form part of our new Christmas story display. The children completed beautiful work to accompany these, writing the words in Welsh. The children had great fun taking part in a Christmas themed PE lesson.…

    The nursery children have been looking at coins in their Abacus maths lessons this week. The children needed to match the pieces of coins in jigsaw money, count the pennies and buy food in our shop.     The children listened to Handel’s ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’ and watched a fireworks display on the whiteboard. They then made some wax resist paintings and wrote shape poems using onomatopoeia words. In Maths, the children have been using money and have had fun playing in the class shop. In Art, they have been painting penguins to put on a wall display about Scott of the Antarctic.…

    In our History lessons this week, we have been comparing toys past and present. The children all spoke beautifully about their toys and produced some fabulous drawings. In English, we have explored fairytales. The children created some fantastic dragons and used adjectives to describe them. They all enjoyed playing the fairytale board game, where they encountered witches, ogres and even a goat pulling a cart!…
