VACANCY: TEACHER OF Design Technology (Product Design) with some Head of Dept. responsibilities.

Contract term: Fixed term - Maternity Cover commencing September 2019 (two full terms initially)
Salary: Commensurate with experience and in line with the market rate (Teachers Payscale).
St John's College is a leading independent school for girls and boys aged 3 to 18. With 550 pupils on its roll, St John’s is the Choir School to Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral and seeks to appoint an experienced DT specialist (specifically Product Design) to join our Design and Technology Department, to teach across the ability range and up to and including KS5. The successful candidate will also be experienced in undertaking Head of Department duties, including supporting the Assistant Head Academic with the departmental development plan and monitoring the quality of provision across the department (which currently comprises of 1 other member of teaching staff and a part-time technician.)
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the capacity to inspire and develop pupils and will have demonstrable experience in delivering strong results. Familiarity with the WJEC specification and experience in working with/alongside other departments to put together and deliver STEM-based initiatives is particularly advantageous.
