R10 Visit to Big Pit, Blaenavon
Having being unable to go on trips for so long, R10 were delighted to visit Big Pit on Thursday. The tour of the mine was fascinating. We were able to imagine how difficult life was for Victorian children working in the dangerous, cold mines.
Everyone enjoyed hearing tales about the pit ponies and their two week holiday above ground! It was also fun to crawl through the model coal face and try pulling the coal trucks.
The guides from Big Pit praised the children for their lovely manners; they thought they asked fantastic questions and were engaged throughout our visit- well done, R10!
