Sixth Form Enrichment WW1 Centenary Lecture at The Pierhead

On Tuesday 8 November, our sixth formers attended the Welsh Assembly’s centenary lecture to commemorate the First World War, hosted at The Pierhead. This year’s lecture was offered by former British Army field commander, the Lieutenant-General Jonathon Riley, and was entitled ‘The Royal Welch Fusiliers and the great Christmas truce, 1914 – 1915’. The lecture focused on the remarkable stories of the Christmas truces of 1914 and 1915, through the eyes of the Welsh officers and men involved.
