Visiting History Speaker

Isabelle receiving a copy of Nelson Mandela’s ‘Long Walk to Freedom' from Mr Friedman.
Louis Friedman was part of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa during the 60s and 70s. He shared his experiences with R16 who are currently completing their GCSE Controlled Assessment on this subject.
Several students had contacted Mr Friedman beforehand with specific questions about apartheid and were delighted to get detailed hand written replies. Similarly Mr Friedman praised the high standard of the questions he had received. He awarded a prize for the best question which went to Isabelle L.
Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Friedman for giving up their time to share their experiences with us and we hope they will return soon.
