Davies, a group of R15 and R16 students currently studying Additional Mathematics as an Extra Curricular activity in the Mathematics Department, visited the world famous Bletchley Park – “The home of the Code Breakers”.   • R16 Geography Trip

    On Tuesday 29 September, our R16 Geography students went on a trip to Abergavenny in preparation for their controlled assessment. We visited both Abergavenny town centre and a residential area to the south of the town in order to investigate how the CBD and suburbs of Abergavenny differ. The students mapped land use, undertook pedestrian counts and completed environmental quality surveys, as well as undertaking their own individual data collection.…

    R13 Football team were involved in a fixture against against Kings Monkton today. Both teams played some outstanding football. The final score was St John’s 11 Kings Monkton 8. Special mention must be made of Luca A and Daniel P who scored three and four goals respectively.…

  • R12 Multi-Sports Tournament

    The R12 pupils were involved in an inter school multi-sports tournament on Monday afternoon. The event provided pupils with excellent opportunities to work cohesively with their peers, develop friendships and enjoy the variety of sports on offer. Pupils were also encouraged to use and develop their Welsh language skills throughout the afternoon.…

    An unprecedented number of pupils read A​ Midsummer Night’s Dream (​retold by Caroline Plaisted) ​a​nd took part in the latest Junior Book Club quiz. Congratulations to De La Salle (team 1) for narrowly winning a closely fought contest and to everyone who took part. All teams were able to demonstrate an outstanding knowledge of a challenging text in advance of the Junior School’s own upcoming production of Shakespeare’s famous play.…

  • R14/15 Football V Fitzalan & Bro Edern

    On Wednesday 23 September, the R14 football team played Fitzalan in an exciting encounter. Unfortunately St John’s lost the game but there were some fantastic performances from all involved. The man of the match award went to Brandon M and Lloyd F pictured scored a great goal for St John’s. Meanwhile, the following afternoon our R14/15 Football team were in action against Bro Edern.…

  • Yousuf Races to Victory

    Congratulations to Yousuf Ashraf (R16) who tried a new discipline of Karting – Club 100 – for the first time at his home track this weekend. Club 100 is a national series in Karting and during the Welsh round, Yousuf set the fastest lap of the race by 1.1 seconds and clinched the victory.…

    Congratulations to Suyash A, Edward X and Neil M in R14 who were invited to sit the next rounds of the highly prestigious UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. Suyash did so well that he was in the top 210 of the 1,200 pupils who took part the Olympiad stage of the competition and received a Bronze medal.…

    The Nursery children sent a card to Prince George to celebrate the birth of his baby sister, Princess Charlotte. The children made the card by hand and all wrote their names inside. The boys and girls are delighted to have received a reply from the royal couple. Each child in the class will receive a copy of the card as a special memento.…
