St John’s College is celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results, with our pupils achieving outstanding academic success across the board. Their results are a testament to their hard work, determination and resilience, supported by the dedication and expertise of our teachers and the encouragement of their families.

This year, 61% of all GCSE grades awarded were at A*, with an outstanding 85% of grades at A*–A. An impressive 95% of grades were A*–B, while 99% of all grades were A*–C.

We are also delighted that the vast majority of our Year 11 pupils will be remaining at St John’s College to continue their education into Sixth Form. Their decision to continue their journey with us is a wonderful endorsement of the opportunities, support and community they have experienced throughout their time at the College. We look forward to seeing them build on this success as they take the next exciting step towards their A Levels and beyond.

We could not be prouder of the Class of 2026. Their success is a wonderful reflection of the ambition, character and community that make St John’s College such a special place to learn.

I could not be happier for this wonderful group of young people. Record-breaking results would be something to celebrate in any year, but there is something particularly special about what this cohort has achieved. They were at the end of Junior School and beginning Senior School during the disruption of Covid, at precisely the point when so many of the habits and foundations for secondary education would normally be established.

They should therefore take enormous pride in what they have achieved today. These results are testament to their talent, certainly, but also to years of hard work, resilience and determination.

They are also a tremendous tribute to their teachers. Excellent results do not happen by accident. Our staff have guided these young people with great skill, knowing when to challenge them, when to encourage them and when to give them the individual support they needed. I am enormously grateful to them.
