This year, R14, R15 and lower 6th have taken part in the UK Biology competitions; Biology Challenge and Intermediate Biology Olympiad

The Biology Challenge is an annual international competition for R14 and R15 testing GCSE knowledge but applied to scenarios beyond the specification. This year 42000 students and awards went to 68 of our hard working pupils at St John’s.

19 of our pupils were highly commended and17 pupils were commended. All of our pupils in R14 and R15 have a free year's membership to BioNet with the Royal Society of Biology for taking part in the competition.

The Intermediate Biology Olympiad is an annual international competition for lower 6th. The pupils were tested on topics covered in GCSE and in As, in addition to new concepts that required problem solving. This year 17000 students globally.
