As part of Black History Month, this week’s senior assemblies have focused on Black History and the British Army, providing an important opportunity for pupils to recognise and celebrate the vital contributions of Black men and women throughout history.
By exploring their courage, service, and resilience, pupils gain a deeper understanding of how Black history is an essential part of British history. Taking time to consider and reflect on the differences in recognition and the lack of titles or rewards that many Black soldiers endured is an extremely important part of honouring the soldiers’ stories shared in this week’s presentation.
