On Friday 27th February, a team of R15 students, Aryav, Suki, Junxi and Jesselyn represented the school at the ACE Cyber Competition Finals, held at Abacws, Cardiff University. The team secured their place at the finals after successfully completing a challenging qualifier round before Christmas.
The finals day centred around an advanced Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, where students were tasked with solving a range of complex cybersecurity challenges. Aryav, Suki, Junxi and Jesselyn worked exceptionally well as a team, demonstrating resilience, problem-solving skills and strong collaboration throughout the day.
Competing against a field made up predominantly of sixth form students, the team more than held their own, showing great determination and maturity in tackling the demanding tasks. The experience also allowed them to develop valuable cybersecurity skills and gain further insight into this rapidly growing field.
It was an excellent achievement to reach the finals, and the team represented the school with enthusiasm and professionalism throughout.
