In early November, R12 pupils, along with their pastoral team set off on an exciting residential trip to the Urdd Centre in Llangrannog, an adventure that many pupils had been eagerly anticipating since the start of the year. The three-day visit was filled with new experiences, team challenges, and plenty of opportunities for fun!

From the moment we arrived, the centre’s coastal surroundings set the tone for an action-packed stay. Pupils quickly settled into their accommodation before diving straight into their first activities on the dry-ski slope and tobogganing course, providing stunning views of Cardigan Bay. 

Over the course of the trip, we took part in a wide range of outdoor and indoor challenges, including high ropes, horseriding, the zipline, and Mr Howard’s new-found skill… archery! Each activity encouraged teamwork, courage, and resilience; we are very proud of everyone’s efforts.

However, this year’s highlight was our visit to the beach, where pupils explored the shoreline and enjoyed some fresh sea air, with a warming hot chocolate after the fresh, and albeit muddy walk along the coastal path. Evenings brought just as much fun, with lively games, delicious food, and opportunities for everyone to relax and bond with each other.

Throughout the trip, staff were extremely proud of the pupils’ behaviour, enthusiasm, and support for one another. Many children surprised themselves by accomplishing something they initially thought too challenging, whether climbing a little higher, trying something entirely new, or simply being away from home for the first time.

A big thank you goes to the staff who accompanied the group and to the encouraging and supportive team at the Urdd Centre. We have made memories to last a lifetime; diolch yn fawr!
