Last week R8 took part in a Wonderful Weather workshop, organised by Dawn of Nature Days. The children learnt through games, such as "Where the wind blows" and "Wind's got Talent" and through a variety of practical activities, about different types of wind and its direction, about different cloud formations and what they mean for the weather conditions. Experiments about air pressure were greatly enjoyed, especially when the "rocket" zoomed high up into the sky and caused a rain shower. They ended the workshop with an investigation into weather conditions, including air speed and direction and temperature of the air, ground and below ground, as they moved around the lawn and tree areas, ending in the playground.
Well done to all the pupils, we can now follow up on this in our Geography lessons.
