The STEM Racing UK National Finals in Sheffield brought together some of the most talented student engineering teams in the country for two days of intense and inspiring competition. Among them, St John’s College was proudly represented by three outstanding teams: Silver Racing, Stealth, and Aetherion, each demonstrating exceptional skill, innovation, and teamwork across multiple disciplines.
The event challenged students far beyond the racetrack. Teams competed in a rigorous programme that included verbal presentations, engineering assessments, and enterprise interviews, testing not only technical ability but also communication, branding, and business acumen.
Silver Racing: Podium Finish and World Stage Ahead
Silver Racing delivered an exceptional all-round performance, securing 3rd place on the national podium and earning the title of Welsh Champions. Their consistency across all judging areas proved crucial, combining strong engineering with polished presentations and a compelling team identity. On track, they recorded the fourth fastest reaction time, reinforcing their competitive edge.
Their success has earned them a place at the World Finals in Singapore this October, where they will represent both their school and Wales on the global stage.
